Competency Based Curriculum is a the new education system that the government came up with to replace the 8-4-4 system which has existed for over 20 years. The government believes that it could help the country achieve it's educational ambitions and be at per with other countries. Earlier this morning while speaking at Citizen Tv Mr. Nicholas Mayio who is currently serving as the chairman of the National Parents Association said that CBC is the best curriculum the country has ever had and termed it as an electric engine compared to the 8-4-4 system which he said was a steam engine. However Bomet Governor who also happened to be in the same session that the country is copy pasting the curriculum from another country which he said he knew but he never mentioned the name.
He also said that there is a missing link between the parents and parents and that a lot of assumptions have been put in place about the role of parent in CBC. A case had also been filled in court to stop CBC which Prof. Magoha said that they will challenge.
Well CBC is a good education system that can really help the country and will be the best educational achievement in the country since it will every child get to know his or her field of interest and this will help uplift talents and it will also lead to production of competent people in various fields that will help the country. The only thing that the government has failed to implement to better is adequate training of teachers and provision of resources to schools to ensure the program is well implemented. However it's a good program. What's your thought on this? Do you support it? Feel free to leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below and don't forget to like share and follow.
