By Shantynews (self media writer) | 5 months ago
Richard Njenga, a 40 year old man from Bahati constituency in Nakuru county was among the candidates who received their KCPE results.
Richard dropped out of school 25 years ago due to lack of school fees. His single mother survived on casual jobs and could barely afford raising him and his 2 siblings. He had to drop out and start working so as to fend for his younger siblings.
He decided to go back to school this year amid opposition from his wife who wondered how he would be able to cater for the family's basic needs and school at the same time since their first born was in form four. He bought school uniform and went to school for a whole year.
Despite struggling to catch up, he managed to score 213 marks out of 500. He plans to continue with his education up to form four and also do a course in college or university.
He advises grown ups who did not complete their education for various reasons to go back to school.
