Hono Secondary School Principal, Grace Were who led the delegation said the DPs chose Busia as their best destination because it's a border town with great hospitality services.
"From the sidelines of the conference, the Siaya delegation appreciated the hospitality industry in Busia. They also crossed the border and had a feel of Uganda," she said.
Ms Were said the deputies were in Busia in 2018 with the Principals holding their workshop at the border town in 2017 and 2019. Coronavirus pandemic made 2020 event for the school heads a nullitty.
Busia has been rated second in hospitality industry after Kisumu in Western and Nyanza regions, making it indeeed the destination of choice.
Were said the refresher course was meant to relieve stress, noting that the theme was "facing the future amidst Coronavirus pandemic, increased workload and reduced time."
"Although term dates have been congested we are cheering our deputies on telling them that they can do it despite abnormal terms and which they need to adjust," she said.
The principal defended Competency- Based Curriculum (CBC) which she said is a good idea, noting that many students who score top grades in previous syllabus don't know what they can do or have interest in.
"There is need for students to be flexible in whatever they do and CBC is the cure of all these ills of students adopting academic oriented curriculum," she said.
