Pain As Fire Guts Down a School On Reopening Day, Properties of Unknown Value Destroyed

The schools have reopened today for the last term of 2021 academic calendar. This abnormally in the school calendar was orchestrated by the Covid-19 pandemic in the country that at one time led to long closure of schools. The Government has however made efforts to ensure that the students remain safe in the learning institutions.

Last term witnessed cases of fires in schools.Unfortunately, the parents have been left to part with huge cash to compensate the damages caused by their children.Education CS Professor George Magoha has said that stiffer penalties await the rogue students. The head teachers have been told not to readmit the rogue students.

As schools open today,it is sad to note that another school has gone up in flames in the first opening day.As reported by Teachers Updates,St Lukes Catholic primary school was destroyed by fire that broke out at night as the school administration was welcoming the students back to school.Fortunately,no casualties have so far been reported with the cause of the fire remaining unknown. This is rather unfortunate.
