Machakos University has been treated to a shock after one of their lecturers died following a road accident.
Susi is loved by many students and University workers over his tendency to advocate for conducive working environment and a better pay for all workers around the university.
Muthama Karua Susi, a Maths and Engineering Lecturer at Machakos University passed on following his involvement in a grisly accident in Naivasha where his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision.
Mr Muthama, popularly known for the love of fast and loud cars mostly Subarus was also the KUSU Secretary-General at Machakos University at the time of his death.
In August, Mr Muthama Susi and other trade unionists from Machakos University gave a strike notice blaming the current Machakos University vice-chancellor Dr Lucy Irungu over what he termed as failed and unsuccessful efforts to seek dialogue with the administration over payment of workers and other academic staff.
In 2019, Susi was involved in the Masinga race wars and was well known in the Subaru motor clubs by most members in the race.
Many of his friends, including the former Nairobi County governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko have come out to express their heartfelt condolences to family and friends of Mr Susi.
Others who came out to eulogize Mr Susi is the front line Machakos county gubernatorial candidate Hon Wavinya Ndeti, who is also the Chief Administrative Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development in Uhuru Kenyatta's government.
"I convey a message of condolence to the family, friends and Machakos University fraternity following the tragic demise of your dear loved colleague; KUSU SG Muthama Susi.
I pray that God grants you strength and comfort to bear this loss," Hon Wavinya Ndeti wrote on her Twitter page.
It should be known that Hon Wavinya Ndeti has been a good supporter of Machakos University and other learning institutions in Machakos county, while also advocating for equal employment opportunities for fresh graduates seeking employment and jobs in Machakos County government.
Few days ago, CAS Wavinya Ndeti came out to condemn the rot and continued extortion of money in the Public Service Board, especially from jobless youths and graduates seeking employment in various offices of Machakos County government under the leadership of the current Governor Alfred Mutua.
In a meeting with students over the weekend, the gubernatorial candidate to support all the university students in Machakos County by introducing free and fair employment opportunities to graduates in various offices in the county government.
