It's almost three weeks after the teachers service Commission announced new vacancies for teachers both in public primary and secondary schools.
After the teachers service commission (TSC) announced a total of 5000 vacancy teachers received it as a plus to them as the big ratio of students to teachers is going to reduce.
Nevertheless, teachers service commission (TSC) under the leadership of chief executive officer Dr. Nancy Macharia is the only board in Kenya with authority to register, employ and discipline teachers.
After the commission has announced new vacancies that's 1000 for primary schools and 4000 for secondary schools, it has plans to favor those 2017 and before graduates. This action is going to give the 2018,2019 ana 2020 graduates minimal chance to be employed.
According to TSC the mass recruitment exercise was set to begin on 22 July this year. This is a move by the commission to curb the shortage in most of the public secondary schools following the ministry of education recent decision of 100% transition from primary to secondary schools. In addition the teachers service commission also awarded the junior and senior interns 30 marks on the score sheet this is a way of making sure that they secure chance from others in the recruitment process so that they are all absorbed.
However after recruitment process is over, the TSC also has plans to announce another 6000 vacancies of teachers in the intern terms.
