Good News To Senior Interns Ahead Of 2021-2025 CBA Implementation

Following shortages of teachers in schools in Kenya, Teachers Service Commission came up with internship program that is used as a way of solving the shortage challenge.

However, the question of whether the intern teachers will ever be confirmed on permanent and penshable terms by TSC has been for long left un answered.

The good news that should be received by these teachers is finally out. Senior interns are likely to be absorbed as soon as possible.

In the new proposed 2021-2025 CBA proposals by Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers, Intern teachers should be extended in the service by six months before being confirmed on permanent and penshable terms.

The Union also proposes that the Intern teachers should earn a monthly stipend of Ksh: 25,000 compared to the current Ksh:20,000.

This is a big boost to graduates in the Education courses as they will now have a reason to simile if the proposed CBA is implemented.
