Confusion Has Marred Kick Start Of Community Based Learning Programme As CSOs Wait TSC Direction

In a move to rescue the Kenyan child, the Teachers service commission in conjunction with the ministry of education had spelt out the guidelines towards rolling out of the community based learning programme.

According to the circular dated 11th, August 2020, TSC directed it's to undertake the programme without charging parents any fee with effects from 12th, August 2020 until further notice .

The objective of the programme according to the circular is to engage learners in productive activities with view of acquiring basic knowledge related to pandemic and other practical life skills.

According to the guidelines on mapping of the teachers within their localities, all tutors employed by the commission are to with curriculum support Officers and subcounty Directors within zones and Sub-County where they are currently staying in by today.

However, there is confusion as when most teachers reached out to the CSOs they too were waiting for direction from TSC on the matter.

Again most Sub-County offices where teachers were to report are also shut.

As things stand it appears the information has not reached the CSO throwing a number of tutors into confusion.
