The Ministry of Education (MOE) released the 2021/2022 school fees structure for all secondary schools under the government’s Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) programme, the programme is aimed to relief parents the burden of paying fees during this hard economic times that have been brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The programme will start immediately the 2021 new academic year starts on Monday 26th July and it will only benefit students who are in public National Schools, Extra County Schools, County, Sub-county and special schools. The Government subsidy to schools marking the start of Free Day Secondary Education (FDSE) will be Ksh. 22,244 per learner and it will be funded annually.
Parents/Guardians with students who are in National and Extra-county schools in Nairobi, Thika, Kisumu and Mombasa, will pay a total of Ksh 45, 000 yearly while those with students in County and Sub-county secondary schools in other parts of Kenya will pay a total of of Ksh 35,000 yearly and finally Parents with students who are in special needs schools will pay a total of Ksh 10,860 yearly.
