The higher education loans board is a government agency aimed at financing needy students in higher institutions of learning. It was founded in the year 1995 as an Act of parliament (Cap 213A). Since its foundation, a large number of needy students have managed to bring to completion of their career courses successfully. Thanks to Higher Education Loans Board. On the other hand, student beneficiaries -also referred to as comrades, have been enjoying this help from HELB. Most of their awarded money is channelled into their bank accounts for upkeep, while a few are channelled to their institutional accounts to aid in school fees.
Whenever a ‘comrade’ receives a text message from HELB that the loan has been channelled into his bank account, brightens the soul and heals the injuries from poverty. Have I used poverty? Yes, students suffer in collages from lack of money. HELB rescues them at that point. Recently, we saw a viral tweet on social media from a person by the name Danzel who wrote “Kuna see HELB yake iliingia tukiwa lesson akatoka (laughing emojis)” meaning, a student who received HELB while in the class got out.
This attracted the attention of Twitter users; this is what some of them responded to.
As the post was posted on the official HELB page, everyone was expecting a reply from the concerned officials. Finally, they responded humorously as usual. “We hope alirudi kumaliza masomo, Ju hiyo doh ni loan. ^PM” Higher Education Loans Board Responded.
Recently, the Higher Education Loans Board started using information language to fits their clients -the students.
