Working as a teacher on board of management terms has come to be of the insecure jobs. Considering what the pandemic exposed this kind of employment where teachers on bom were forced to survive without salaries until when government came to their rescue. It's indeed unfortunate that the said tutors undergoes such hard times.
In this regard a school in Kilifi County is on spotlight for humiliating its teachers employed by board. The school is called Garashi secondary in kilifi county, is reportedly not paying teachers on board, and when they ask for their pay the principal threatens with sacking statements. Just recently he told them to reapply for their jobs before schools open because he didn't want them to be paid during holidays. This comes after everyone told him that they were experiencing lockdown and can't travel to their rural homes, so he sacked all six of them.
It is quite dehumanizing to a trained teacher, such principals should be taken through disciplinary procedures by teachers service commission for mismanagement of schools. Furthermore, the legal action should be imposted on them for going against the labour laws.
