This has come once as the SC of education started to pass through schools and monitor how they have prepared to host junior secondary learners. Many primary schools are not yet ready to host junior secondary learners as some have not made up to 60 percent qualification for the task. President Ruto said that even though there are some challenges they will amend them. “There are some challenges being faced on the transition but as a government, we will make sure that everything is perfected in the fullness of time,” the President had announced on January 4,2023.
On the other hand the ministry has announced that for the start of junior secondary schools primary schools will share laboratories with nearby secondary schools and later they will construct theirs. In consideration to which school will host junior secondary the ministry said that for a school to qualify it must have the following: School laboratories, A land title deed, enough classrooms, enough teachers and high standards of sanitation.
The government had advised schools to transit extra classrooms to be laboratories and also to add you other classes. TSC beyond that had assured that they will play part in deploying 30,000 teachers who will handle junior secondary learners. Parents also are to transfer their junior secondary learners to nearby schools which had qualified to host junior secondary learners.
