Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago has urged the government to raise the amount of money given to students as Helb Loan, saying it is the best way to better the tough situation facing the Kenyan students. Governor Mandago has also said that the increase in the amount of the loan will also enable new students to join and continue with their studies without going through the struggles of lacking money to purchase the required equipment in school.
He also added that the funds will be more helpful to those who are doing technical courses that involve a lot of practicals and use of many types of equipment since they will be able to get access to the equipment easily. Many students have seemed to support this agenda in social media as they know that it will benefit them greatly. He also added that there is no need of borrowing funds from other countries to benefit other politicians while students are suffering.
