The suspects who were identified as Adelaide Majoni, Vincent Kadasia, Mr Lubembe, Victor Andove and Higley Lungatso were accused of beating up the student inappropriately after suspecting that he was in possession of a phone in school.

The St. Augustine Mukumu Boys Secondary School teachers were presented before court where they were supposed to respond to the charges against them. They denied the charges and got released on bond. The resident magistrate ordered that they do not interact with the victim and witnesses.

She asked the school principal to ensure that the teachers are shifted away from the classes with witnesses and the victim citing that they might interfere with the evidence against them. Further, she said that if the bond rules are breached, it will be suspended. The case will be mentioned on August, 2022.
