Good News To Teachers As TSC Announce Dates For Promotion Interviews

Teachers service commission has announced November as the month set to conduct promotional interviews at both regional and county levels.

Applicants are requested to fill the positions of senior teachers, chief principals, deputy principals and head teachers.The move by teachers service commission comes as a result of career progression guidelines that were implemented in 2018.

The interview targets one thousand three hundred and seventy six teachers for new positions in both arid and semi-arid areas as part of the promise teachers service commission made during the collective bargaining agreement.

Teachers service commission is also expected to interview one thousand nine hundred and ninety five interns of which one thousand and thirty eight will be interviewed for primary schools and the remaining nine hundred and fifty seven for secondary schools.

The move will increase the number of interns to six thousand teachers according to teachers service commission.The internship that was set to end in December will continue, in sequence to address the current shortage of teachers in schools.

Primary school interns will be paid a stipend of fifteen thousand shillings whereas secondary school interns will get a stipend of twenty thousand shillings.

 Teachers service commission chief executive officer Nancy Macharia stated that the collective bargaining agreement granted all teachers a common promotion after serving for three years in their entry grades.
