On Friday, 22nd October 2021, Cabinet Secretary for Education, Professor George Magoha exposed both Secondary and Primary schools across Kenya who register ghost Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates.
This is after the ministry of Education had given a new directive for schools across Kenya to register at least 30 candidates.
A huge fear has been instilled in schools after the great exposure on Friday, could this be the end of the road for other schools?
Mr Obiero, during the meeting said that this is defrauding the government and causing unnecessary wastage in the Kenya's economy
He further stated that if they find the schools responsible for the defrauding, they will write a letter to the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) in order for them to take action and right measures.
Schools should follow the right protocols and measures in order for them not to fall into such embarrassing traps.
