Cases of students unrest in school is becoming nuisance. Several dormitories have been brought down to ashes by unruly students. No single week can pass without fire inferno being witnessed in any school within the country. Due to this reason education stakeholders are having frequent meetings inorder to come up with a long lasting solution to this problem.
In connecting to that, Cabinet Secretary for education professor George Magoha and his counter part Fred Matiang'i are pushing for re-introduction of corporal punishment in schools as a way of curbing students' unrest.
The push for re-introduction of the cane comes at a time dozens of learners are behind bars in different parts of the country in connection to the torching property worth millions of shillings in their respective schools.
''We need to introduce caning back in schools like yesterday...do not expect our teachers to do the impossible,'' said professor Magoha.
