Two students from class eight who drowned while on a school trip in Kiambu County's Theta Dam have prompted a search effort.

After practicing for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) test on Friday, the students from Comejuu Premier Academy Primary School in Komothai, Githunguri, went on an outing.
Sixty students from grades six and eight; according to headteacher David Paul Kang'ethe, went on a field trip to Kinare Forest.
The two boys; both 14 years old were scheduled to take their national examinations beginning this Monday on November the 28th 2022.
In the search operation, officers from the Kiganjo police station are collaborating with detectives from Gatundu and their colleagues from the Mindoro police post.
Around 4:30 pm on Friday, the lads reportedly entered Theta Dam and that is when the operation began; according to authorities.
This morning, the search mission has continued as they keep searching for their bodies in the dam.
