Today, it was a sad day for the country after several students were involved in a road accident. The school bus carrying the students overturned on Kakamega Kisumu highway.
Kisumu county governor professor Anyang Nyong'o has broken silence on the bad ordeal. He said,
"Wishing quick recovery to the 45 Thurgem Secondary School students who were injured in a freak road accident at Kisumu's Mamboleo area today. Our prayers go out to you and your families."
Luckily, no death was reported after the accident and those who had various injuries were taken to hospital. Thurgem is a well performing school. It is also known for nurturing talents especially football.
Most of the students who are alumni are good football players. This unfortunate incident comes at a time when candidates are heading to national examination. The parents prayer is that those hospitalised get well soon and resume their studies so that a lot of time is not lost.
