Meru University of Science and Technology Council have come out publicly to say that they will not renew the contract of their vice chancellor Mr Romanus Odhiambo. The council then sent him on terminal leave stating that he had perfomed below expectations.
The council said that the university suffered very much during the reign of Mr Romanus Odhiambo noting that even the number of students in their school has nosedive terribly ever since Mr Romanus Odhiambo took charge of the campus. The vice chancellor has been slapped with 121 day terminal leave meaning that for the duration that he has been suspended he will only be allowed to do his personal transactions but not on behalf of the school.
Similarly the vice chancellor can only keep on using the title vice chancellor for as long as they have not found a better replacement for the luo man until the council will come up with a better replacement of the chancellor. On his defense he said that the dismissal was just political saying that in his reign the population of the University has increased immensely.
