Meet KDF Officer Who Teaches Primary School Pupils Kiswahili At The Kenya -Somalia Boader

Juma Galgileel is the man's name. He is a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier stationed in Wajir, Kenya, on the border with Somalia. Juma observed that there was a significant language barrier between them and the locals because most of them couldn't speak Swahili, which made it challenging for them to converse with them.

Juma made a choice two years ago that will aid the residents of Wajir in obtaining an education and some level of literacy. He moved and went to request permission to instruct in Kiswahili at one of the elementary schools, Khorif Harar, in the Wajir East sub-county of Wajir County, which is located along the Kenya-Somalia border.

His decision to educate students at the school while he is not on duty has greatly facilitated dialogue in the community. To him, my congratulations. He is indeed performing admirably. This has encouraged many people in the region.
