University Lecturers Go on Strike Over Low Pay

Lecturers in Dedan Kimathi university in Nyeri county have threatened never attend classes starting from today. They have been demonstrating in school over low pay and have threatened to go on road striking. If their pleas will not be listened to no classes.

Today, they demonstrated more and their general Anthony Murithi said the university does not follow the agreement made between the two parties. Despite reaching several concerned personnel on the issue it has not bowed any fruits

Mr Anthony continued saying the school neglected the court order of pay increment in there salaries.

Now the lectures requires the university to pay them like other institutions are paying their tutors. They added the won't attend any class unless they get paid like others

On the other hand the university has issued a directive of lectures to attend classes as their concern is being addressed. Likewise they promised to change their pay immediately after they get the recommendation from SRC
