For the last few months, several incidences of teachers assaulting students have been reported. Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha has always told teachers that it is against the law to cane and torture students psychologically. Some teachers are ignorant on this now that incidences of teachers assaulting students are on the rise.
According to Tuko News, a student has been spotted wearing a banner written that it is her hobby to urinate on beds. Ndungu Nyoro an Educationist, has seriously condemned this weird act terming it as psychological torture to the student.
Several Kenyans in response to the weird act, have also expressed their anger in social media platforms as follows;
Teachers should by all means avoid assaulting students as well as torturing them psychologically. This is because it can lead to low self esteem and even depression resulting to poor performance and school drop out. Instead, they should encourage, motivate, guide and counsel students whenever they go wrong.
