The teachers service commission is constitutionally mandated to hire, register, promote and exercise disciplinary control over teachers.
Wednesday October 5 being teachers day, the commission has some good mews to teachers throughout the country.
The secretary to the commission who also doubles up as the chief executive officer Dr Nancy macharia said the commission has initiated talks with the new government over the promises made before election.
Speaking during the annual world teachers day celebrations at Kenya school of government, macharia said teachers should expect the best going forward.
It's worth noting that the president and his Kenya kwanza Brigade had signed a charter promising to hire 58000 teachers to bridge the gap.
If the talks succeed, then it will be good news to over 200, 000 trained but unemployed teachers in the country.
The CEO further said that the commission has already posted 14000 teachers to assist in mitigating challenges resulting from 100 percent transition.
The commission at the same time awarded various teachers for their commendable service to the kenyan child.
Do you think the government can honour the promise to hire 58000 teachers per year? feel free to share your thoughts and comments on this on our comments platform.
