For a period of two weeks, teachers and examiners in Kenya have been fullly engaged in marking exercise. According to the teachers we have interacted with, the marking is expected to come to an end this week. Examiners have already finished marking Biology (paper one) and History (paper one). However, there has been a lot of complaints concerning Exams cheating in various parts of our country. For instance, some schools in Nyanza and North Eastern are suspected to have had a leakage of the exams. They were producing something related to the marking scheme. Many students might have seen the examination earlier before the expected time.
From 2016, cases of exams cheating have been very minimal. This was after Doctor Fred Matiangi took the lead of the ministry of education replacing professor Joseph Kaimenyi. Unfortunately, even after Professor Magokha who is known to be a no-nonsense person taking over from Matiangi, the exams irregularities have been witnessed in KCPE and KCSE. The best person to chair the docket would have been Fred Matiang'i.
