Teacher Service Commission (TSC) is a constitutional commission that is mandated to manage human resources in education sector in the country. The commission is envisage in 2010 constitution and it recruits, promote and transfer teachers in all public schools in Kenya.
Apart of employing teachers, TSC also register teachers before they can be allowed to teach in any school in the country. It also disciplines teachers who go against it's prescribed code of conduct.
July this year, TSC sacked deputy Chief Executive Office Kennedy Mulunda. The deputy TSC Boss was accused of corruption in the Commission especially in recruitment of teachers. The move ignited mixed reactions among teaching fraternity whom majority felt that Kennedy Mulunda was being sacked unfairly.
It is now huge relief to Kennedy Mulunda as High Court has ordered to TSC to reinstate him. While delivering judgement, court said that Kennedy Mulunda was unfairly sacked and that TSC should reinstate him with immediate effect.
