Nyeri County government is distributing ECDE learning materials to various schools across the county. This is set to prioritize and add more value to education among the young learners. What's being distributed include tables, plastic chairs, play equipment, reading and writing equipment among others and were distributed in a bid to create a suitable learning environment for the young learners. The centers are also being issued with water tanks which will ensure a steady supply of water in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19 among the learners.

Deputy County Commissioner Ndeti Odilla applauded the efforts by the County Government of Nyeri in supporting young learners and assured the national government's continued support to the education sector. Other than ECDE centers, the county government is also set to visit various vocational training centers and issue them with machines and equipment that will facilitate technical training among the youth.

Nyeri county Governor Kahiga noted that the county government has employed over 800 ECDE teachers and is looking into their terms of service in a bid to improve their salaries and benefits and also make sure that all schools have enough teachers.
