Schools have closed countrywide to pave way for national examinations both KCPE and KCSE which begins this week. However, as children back home parents have headache of keeping these young kenyans in shape bearing in mind that it is a festive season.
Already, the unthinkable is being witnessed in Embu county where a group of school going teens were arrested by police in different bars in Runyenjesi taking liquor. According to the deputy county commissioner of Embu, Jane Waruinge, the group constitute twenty one boys and seven girls.
It is a big challenge to parents on how to maintain their children for the two months they will be at home to avoid the ills of the society, like sex and drug abuse. Teachers have done their part for a better part of the year as they stayed with learners in school moulding them.
The ball now is hands of the guardians and parents to ensure they will return back to school come january while still students.
