Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has been threatened to be impeached by the Perliamenterians from Baringo County. Speaking on one of the national televisions, Joshua Kandie and Charles Kamuren for Baingo Central and Baringo South respectively have send a strong warning against the cabinet secretary concerning some of the reforms to be done in the Ministry of Education.
It is reported that the Ministry is planning to raise the entry points for those joining the Teachers Training Colleges TTC and undergraduate degree for education. The alleged changes have angered some of the leaders claiming that such reforms would make some parts of the country lack professionals of such critical career in the society.
Baringo County is one of the Rift Valley counties that can be grouped as a marginalized counties following the perennial droughts, floods, tribal fights and livestock raiding. Equally as North Eastern region, the Baringo County leaders feel the government should consider them lowering the mean score for pursuing higher learning courses to encourage youths embrace education.
