17th May 2022 it is! This afternoon Kisumu Boys High School teachers and staff were all smiles after there was a transition in the school's top most position, that is, the chief principal's position. In a closed door meeting held at the staffroom some hours ago, the new chief principal was introduced to the teachers in a brief meeting that lasted for less than an hour.
The new chief principal called Dancan Otieno Owiye replaces the acting principal, Mr Eric Duya who had been occupying the school's top most office for the past three months.

Mr. Eric Duya was chosen to lead the school after the demise of the school's former chief principal, Mr. Peter Obwogo who succumbed to cancer three months ago.
The late Mr. Obwogo fad been serving as the School's head for quite sometime. Until his death, Chief Principal Peter Obwogo was set to contest for the Matayos parliamentary seat. He became the chief principal at Kisumu Boys after being delocalized from St Joseph’s High school in Kitale.

Obwogo’s uttermost dedication made him receive votes as principal of the year in 2015 when he was at St Joseph’s Kitale which saw him take home the Principal Of The Year Award, (POYA)
He has been mourned online as a disciplined, hard working, obedient and honest person who had great work ethics and who was dedicated in his work.
The incoming chief principal who was formerly stationed at Chulaimbo boys High school is set to pick the mantle as soon as possible after he fully settles his former house in Chulaimbo and leaves it in order under safe hands.
Mr. Owiye congratulated the teachers for the good work they did in the previous KCSE exams and for leading the boys to attain the good mean. He expressed his joy for joining the school and said that he looks forward to working well with the teachers in ensuring that the school keeps up with it's exceptional performance if not perform even better.
