The Ministry of Education has released the annual school schedule, and it appears that classes will resume in the new year in the month of January. The first semester will run from January 23, 2023 to April 21, 2023; the second semester will run from May 8, 2023 to August 11, 2023; and the third semester will run from August 28, 2023 to November 3, 2023.
Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) updated teacher certification tests for 2023 on November 24.
The council said the adjustments would affect seven teacher education tests, including the Upgrade Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (UDPTE), Upgrade Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDECTE), and the Certificate in Primary Teacher Education (PTE).
In addition to the ECDE, there are the TCAE, DTE, SNE, and ECDE exams.
All candidates who were referred in the ECDE (Certificate and Diploma), PTE, TCAE, DTE, and SNE exams are eligible to enrol for the referred topic during the 2023 Teacher Education registration periods.
In March and April 2023, candidates who were recommended to the now-defunct Primary Teacher Education (PTE) exam might take the necessary portions.
The exams council withdrew the test after that declaration.
In March and April 2025, the last ECDE exams will be administered (Certificate and Diploma Level).
From March 6-17, 2023, teachers uploaded DTE and SNE grades.
Principals of Teacher Training Colleges and Sub-County Adult and Continuing Education Officers presenting exam candidates must follow all directions.
This calendar matches the Ministry of Education's 2023 school year timetable.
First semester will last 13 weeks, from January 23 to April 21, 2023. The second session began May 8, 2023, and ended August 11, 2023.
