Hard Times For Teachers As TSC Sends More Show Cause Letters To TPAD Non Compliants

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is an independent commission in Kenya that is mandated to recruit, promote and remunarate teachers.

The commission which is currently under the leadership of Dr. Nancy Macharia as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is also responsible with teachers discipline.

With the introduction of Teacher Professional Appraisal Document (TPAD), teachers have been finding it challenging to balance between teaching and filling online TPAD.

According to Teachers Service Commission, all teachers both employed by TSC and those serving on Board of Management and expected to have Online TPAD accounts.

The essence of introducing TPAD is one of the measures employed by TSC fully migrate from Analog to Digital mode of operation and service delivery.

However, some teachers have been served by show cause why letters from TSC. Through sub county directors, affected teachers are expected to explain to their respective supervisors as to why they failed to meet the scheduled deadline.

This has been received as hard times to specific teachers who now risk to face disciplinary action as stipulated in TSC code of conduct.
