Learners in both primary and secondary schools are almost coming to the end of term three according to the new school calender. Schools are expected to shut down for approximately one week as from date 17th July, this will mark the end of term three.
Learners will be given a short period of seven days at home before they emberk to learning and teaching activities. The new school calender which came in under the influence of Covid-19 pandemic in the country, states that learners in both primary and secondary schools are expected to resume learning for term one as from 26th July, 2021.
On the other hand, on this 26th July, grade four learners are also expected to resume learning where they will achieve promotion as grade five learners. Term one will last for ten weeks before they break for a holiday on 2nd October. Second term will commence on 11th October to 23rd December.
Non-candidates will commence their 3rd term as from 3rd January to 4th March, then candidates will remain in school to undertake the Kenya National Examinations.
In Secondary schools, form ones are expected to report in their schools as from 2nd August as it was directed by the ministry of Education cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha.
Since Covid-19 pandemic in the country has not yet ended, all school heads are urged to ensure all Covid-19 protocols in schools are well observed.
