Kenyan teachers at such times of Examinations become very busy due to the exam supervisions and markings.Just after the completion of the exam administrations, the teachers who mark Insha and Composition papers do get invitation to go and mark the papers in Nairobi.KNEC had already advertised the slots for the examiners in its portal.
The Candidates have done their national exams at a time when the Covid 19 pandemic has traumatised many families.TSC has not been left out.It has lost a total of 41 teachers since March last year. The teachers are among the frontline workers who are supposed to be vaccinated.Unfortunately, vaccines are idle since majority of Kenyans have declined to go for them.Nation Newspaper has reported on the same.
The teachers have been sceptical too about the vaccine.TSC CEO Dr Nancy Macharia had led the teachers in getting the vaccine. The Commision has also clearly stated to the teachers the hospitals approved by the Ministry of Health where they can go for the jab.Towards the exams, the Commision urged the tutors to get their vaccines.Just to keep on reminding the teachers about their lives, the Commision has again echoed its voice to the teachers to go for the jab. This call comes at a time when the vaccines are idle in the hospitals. It has given a link for the teachers to access the medical facilities that they would prefer.
