The TSC has stated that recruitment of 30000 junior secondary teachers and requirements

The Teachers Service Commission(TSC) has stated that the recruitment of junior secondary teachers will be prioritized in the January mass recruitment. TSC CEO Nancy Macharia stated that there is already a 30,000-teacher shortage in secondary schools across the country and the government is asking qualified personnel to send their applications before January.

The recruitment is carried out in accordance with the Commission's recruitment guidelines, which are updated on a regular basis. The commission advertises available positions, and interested candidates submit application forms to the counties/institutions where they want to be considered for employment.

To be employed by the Commission one must meet the following requirements;

1 Must be a Kenyan citizen

2. Must be 45 years of age and below

3. Must be registered as a teacher as stipulated in Section 23 of the Teachers Service Commission Act 2012.

Note: Those registered but do not possess Certificates of Registration must attach a copy of the online printout of the TSC Number and original bank pay-in slip for teacher registration.

Finally, those who wish to apply should have Original Professional and Academic Certificates which may include;

School Leaving Certificate

CPE/KCPE Certificate

KCE/KCSE Certificate

PTE Certificate

Diploma Certificate

Degree Certificate
