New Dawn at Egerton university as Prof Isaac Kibwage appointed the acting Vice Chancellor

Prof Isaac Kibwage was appointed the acting Egerton university vice chancellor on 13th of January 2021following the attainment of mandatory retirement age of 70years by the predecessor Prof Rose Mwonya

Prof Kibwage Isaac has been at the management level within the institutions serving as the deputy vice chancellor, Administration Planning and Development (APD).

This is the second time he is appointed after the initial appointment that was made official on 20th November 2020.

Though it never went successful as Prof Mwonya went to the court and came with a order making her the substantive Vice chancellor, a move that revert the decision.

Prof Mwonya term came to conclusion official on 12th of January though she took the matter to the court claiming to allowed to serve till 74years of age.

Hearing expected 14th of January 2021.

Prof Kibwage appointment was made to public, students and staff by the Council led by Ambassador Dr Wario who asked for support from the staff,friends to the University, and students for the forward move.

Egerton university had more pending issues including a 3.3Billion debts that they owe the KRA,Sacco's among others.

2019 they experienced a strike from the angry students that later faced a surcharge of Ksh16862.

Students and staff will hope for new leaderships to lead them to greater achievement.
