Natinal Youth Services is one of the program that was started by the president with an aim of helping youths in the society. Each and every year there is a new recruitment except for now when the country is having a hard tine dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The main aim of the NYS is to help youths in the society to acquire technical courses that will help them earn their living. NYS usually recruits youths from all parts of the country without discrimination.
After some months of training and serving the society, most of them graduate through a large ceremony that is hosted by the president. While in training the youths are given a chance to serve the community through social work. This is where they clean towns, streets, roads and other places owned by the public. The training equips them with important virtues they need in life to be the best members of the society.
After the graduation they are given a chance to choose the courses they with to take in higher institution. Secondary education is always very important because they all choose their courses according to the grade one got in highschool. Some of the recruits are chosen directly to join the Kenya police and also the army.
The best recruits in terms of behavior and straining skills end up in luck of this. Some also are recruited in NYS as trainers of youth. Those who choose other courses in higher institutions, they are provided with school fee and accommodation for learning.
