Maseno university, one of the top 10 Kenyan universities and the only university along the equator on the globe held its 20th graduation ceremony on 30th April 2021.

The event was held virtually and aired on NTV due to the impact of the corona virus pandemic. In attendance of the ceremony was the cabinet secretary for education ,Mr. George Magoha.

The CS congratulated the graduating class and the whole of maseno fraternity for adopting and successfully implementing the online learning techniques. However, the minister's congratulatory remarks were not received well by some of the students who are currently undergoing the procedure.

The students complained that they are having a hard time studying online. They said the process is not fair because not every student can meet the requirements for online learning. Some students come from very remote areas in the country where network coverage is very low. Some said they dont have the gadgets and required capital to venture in online learning.

The students went ahead to blame the virus and the measures put in place by the government to help curb the spread of the virus. They urged the government to help open up the country and learning institutions so that learning can carry on as usual promising to follow all the guidelines put in place by the ministry of health.
