Dr. Purity Ngina rose to fame when she became the youngest Ph.D. holder in Biomathematics that attained at the age of 28 in Strathmore University in 2018. She had three publication under her name on HIV/AIDS. She admitted in an interview that many people are not aware that mathematics can of solution to diseases, she added that she saw a gap that needed a voice and that what kept her going.
Just like any other person her life was not easy one as she has had a fair share of ups and downs. She grew in Nyeri county in a small village by the name Mbiriri, she was raised by single mother. She did her first KCPE Exams in 2002 and scored 235 marks which according to her was not good enough.
She said that her mother urged her to re-sit, as she knew the value of education since she hadn't been able to acquire education then.she re-sat for her exams in 2003 and got 365 marks out of the possible 500 marks. She managed to secure chance in Tamu Tamu girls in Karatina, where she scored B plus and later joined Egerton university Where she graduated with Bachelors degree in Education science.
