Back To School :Tough Moments Ahead For Parents As Schools Defy Magoha's Directive

Reports have emerged that Magoha's directive on reduction on school fees has failed as parents say that institutions are still charging the initial fees.

In August the Education Ministry released fee guidelines requiring parents who there children are in National schools to pay 45054 while extra County and county schools to pay 35035.

The Star have established that in Loretto Girls Secondary School which is a national school, parents are required to pay the initial free which is 75000.

The reduction in the fees weas because the term weeks had been reduced from normal 38 weeks to 30 weeks.

A fee structure seen by the star has also established that Dagoretti High School, an extra County school, parents were told to pay sh 16000 for the second term fees. Parents will be required to pay sh 53444 for a whole year instead of the 35035 given by the Ministry.

This initial fee in school is headache to parents as schools open for term two.
