Bad News To Teachers as MoE Wins Against Them In CBC Stalemate

The teachers service commission recently issued a directive that all teachers must undertake teacher refresher courses after every five years . According to the teacher's employer , those who fail to adhere to the rule will have have their TSC numbers recalled.

The move according to TSC intends to professionalize the teaching career.

The teachers however decried that the TSC reached the decision by itself without involving them .The matter as a result headed to High Court for resolution. Lawyers led by the LSK boss Nelson Havi represented the teachers while senior counsel Philip Kipchirchir Murgor represented the TSC and Ministry of Education.

However, the High Court has today ruled in favour of the teachers employer and the TSC . Consequently, teachers will now have to head to class for the refresher courses at the select universities in the country.
