KCPE Candidates to Select Day Secondary Schools

The new curriculum which is competency based is slowly taking form. What we do know is that it is meant to boost skill development and instill values in learners.

The PS incharge of the basic education in Kenya, PS Belio Kipsang has been fast tracking the process of facing out the 8-4-4 system. The pioneer class is set to have an all new junior school experience. In this regard the ministry plans to introduce an new selection criteria: under this new arrangement students joining sub- county schools will be required to commute daily. In other words, the junior high scholar will be a day scholar.

What this means is that the learners have to select schools within a commutable distance from their parents residential address.

The selection process is set to be revised by February 26th 2021 just before the current candidates sit for their KCPE between 22 and 24th March 2021.

The said candidates will be sitting the 2020 national exam in March 2021 due to disruptions caused by the Covid 19 pandemic
