Boarding schools strategically located within Kenyan borders received excellent news mid-morning as the Kenyan Government dismissed allegations of the abolition of all residential schools.
According to CS Machogu, a recent speech reported to Principal Secretary for Education Belio Kipsang was an expression of personal opinion rather than official government policy, and the administration had no plans to abolish boarding schools.
"Nobody wants to abolish boarding schools, but as school enrollment grows, there is more need for residential school amenities. The best course of action is to provide day schools with the necessary facilities "He stated.
In a statement issued today, March 10, 2023, the Kenyan government stated that boarding schools will remain in place and will not be eliminated, as previously stated.
What are your feelings about the government's stance on boarding schools? Please leave us a remark with your thoughts, opinions, and ideas.
