Schools in the country are set to re-open in May 10th for third term. This is according to the school calendar that was set earlier after the disruption of learning by the Covid 19 pandemic. The Cabinet secretary of education Professor George Magoha has maintained that the school calendar remains undisrupted.
According to reliable sources, there is a division between eduction stake holders. Some are of the opinion that the school calendar remains undisrupted, meaning that schools reopen for third term in May while others are of the opinion that pupils should stay at home until September so that they may reopen for third term. Those of the opinion that schools reopen in September say that pupils should wait and resume the normal school calendar that has been there from the past.
This division comes just few days before schools reopen. Sources indicate that the stake holders will be meeting this Friday 30th to discuss and come up with the way forward.
