KUCCPS is one of the government institutions in Kenya that provides career guidance. However, the Ministry of Education closely monitors and regulates this agency. Therefore they are mandated to ensure smooth transition from secondary to universities, colleges and technical institutions.
Those students who sat for 2020 KCSE that were not lucky to get placement during the first and second revision, were advised to do the third revision of courses. Those who were interested applied for diploma, certificates or artisan certificates at the college they desire. This means that successful applicants for such programmes are going to enjoy the advantages of a government subsidy.
However, the entry requirements for those going to pursue diploma courses are slightly lower than degree courses. Therefore they offer more opportunities for those students who desire to advance their studies, but cannot meet all the criteria for degree courses.
Therefore KUCCPS was established to coordinate the placement of Government-sponsored students to Kenyan universities and colleges. They also develop and implement career guidance programs. Moreover, they disseminate information on available programmes and collect and retain data relating to universities and college placement.
