Moi university is a top most famous higher institution of learning that is mainly based in Rift Valley region. The university main campus is based in Eldoret.
It's bad news to school of medicine students based in Moi university after their lecturers downed their tools on Sunday midnight. The strike comes after a two week's strike notice to the government.
The dons who are also doctors at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) Eldoret striked because of the ministry of education not respecting the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
The dons complained of being denied allowances and delayed payment that accumulates to over Ksh 50 million.
In conclusion, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacist and Dentist Union (KMPDU) North Rift branch secretary Mr. Kamanzi Mulei has supported the move taken by the dons. I take this chance to call upon the Cabinet secretary of education Prof George Magoha to intervene and ensure the dons resume their duties.
