Over six thousands primary school teachers will soon be deployed to teach in secondary schools. The Teachers Service Commission boss Dr. Nancy Macharia says that the commission has shortlisted over 6000 of them before being posted to juniour secondary schools.
Macharia says that the commission has taken this move because from next year when CBC will be implemented, more secondary school teachers will be needed. The looming double intake of learners to secondary schools has also led to the deployment of these teachers. Each year after primary school pupils sit for for their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, almost all learners proceed to secondary schools. This has led to teacher deficiency in secondary schools hence the need for deployment. Here are samples of primary school teachers shortlisted.
TSC CEO says that the interviews will be conducted in December this year and the teachers be posted early next year. This will be of great importance because it will curb teachers shortage being experienced in secondary schools. It will also benefit primary school teachers who advanced their studies but were not yet deployed to secondary schools.
