The teachers are currently working hard to ensure that they complete the syllabus on time before the candidates sit for their national examinations in March this year.The Ministry of Education has already assured the candidates that the national examinations are ready and that they should not panic since the exams will be favourable for them.
The parents are optimistic that their children will pass the exams amid the tough times of Covid-19 pandemic that has made the economy unbearable for majority of the parents.Just last term,the ministry reduced the school fees for the boarding schools.The headteachers have always been warned against charging excess fees.
It is quite unfortunate that some schools are still defying CS Magoha's order on school fees.Today,the Daily Nation has established that some schools are still charging excess illegal fees in the name of remedial,motivation amongst other vote heads.The parents through their chairman Nicholas Maiyo have mentioned schools such as Kathiiani Girls and Uthiru Girls secondary schools as revealed by the media.
Besides these schools,the giant Kisii National school is also in the headlines.Another one is Mwimbi boarding primary school in Tharaka Nithi county.
