More Burden To Teachers Following The Latest Directives From The Ministry Of Education

It is barely a week since schools across the country officially opened for first term of the new 2021 academic year. This is after schools had closed on 16th of July 2021 for a ten day holiday.

Despite the Covid 19 pandemic, the Ministry of Education under Professor George Magoha has been working around the clock to ensure that the lost time is fully recovered.

As a way to recover the lost time during the 2020 academic year which saw students stay away from school, the Ministry of Education has given new directives on lessons to be covered by teachers in both primary and secondary schools.

In the released guidelines, the Physical Education and Life skills have now been officially included on the time table.

One PE lesson will be allocated to Life skills in Form 3 and Form 4. On the other hand, a tenth lesson should be created in both forms one and two to teach Life skills.

This is an indication that teachers will have no option but to come up with mechanisms of creating more time for Learners in order to meet the expectations of the Ministry.
