Good News to Unemployed 300,000 P1 Teachers as TSC Assures Them Employment.
According People Daily newspaper on today 1st December 2021,in what has been received as good news, Teachers Service Commission Chief Executive Officer has assured teachers holding certificates will be employed.According to Macharia, the mentioned teachers will secure jobs despite the changes because they are trained to handle learners accordingly.
The Teachers Service Commission is currently under the leadership of Dr. Nancy Macharia. Despite some complains from teachers and unions, she has been working round the clock to ensure that teachers both in primary and secondary schools work in conducive environments as well improve on teaching standards.
Following a directive from TSC, all unemployed P1 teachers are expected to upgrade from Certificate to Diploma in the new Competence Based Curriculum.
There has been speculations that teachers holding certificate qualification after the upgrade to qualifications could be locked out of the future employment by the Teachers Service Commission.
